Served With a Lawsuit? We Draft Your Answer. You File It.
A paragraph-by-paragraph response to every allegation, plus the affirmative defenses that fit your facts, court-ready and filed under your own name.
A summons and complaint starts a strict clock, often about 20 to 30 days depending on your court, and if you miss it the plaintiff can take a default judgment. Our drafters answer each allegation admit, deny, or lack knowledge, plead the defenses your facts support, and add a counterclaim when you have one, so you respond on time and keep every defense alive.
You file it · Respond on time
Drafted to your court's rules, ready to sign and file
The response deadline is strict. Miss it and the plaintiff can move for a default judgment, which can cost you the case before you ever argue it. Tell us the date you were served and we set a confirmed delivery date in writing, with runway for you to review and file on time.
What goes into your Answer
An Answer is not a letter to the judge. It is a formal pleading that responds to each allegation and raises your defenses, drafted to the rules of your court.
Paragraph-by-paragraph admissions and denials
Every numbered allegation gets its own response: admit, deny, or lack knowledge sufficient to respond.
Affirmative defenses tailored to your facts
Statute of limitations, payment, waiver, and the rest, pleaded so they are preserved and not waived.
General denial where the rules allow it
In courts and cases that permit it, a clean general denial that still protects your position.
Counterclaims when you have a claim back
If the same facts give you a claim against the plaintiff, we plead it so you do not lose it.
How it works
Send us the complaint and your service date
Share the summons and complaint, the court, and the date you were served. Your response deadline drives everything, so we work back from it and set your delivery date in writing.

Answer to complaint questions
How long do I have to answer a complaint?
It depends on your court and how you were served, but the window is short, often about 20 to 30 days from the date of service. If you do not respond in time, the plaintiff can ask the court for a default judgment against you. Send us your service date and we work back from your deadline so you have runway to review and file.
Can I file the Answer myself, without a lawyer?
Yes. A self-represented (pro se) defendant signs and files under their own name, and courts accept an Answer filed that way as long as it meets the court's format and deadline rules. We draft the Answer to those rules; you sign, file it, and serve the other side.
I am an attorney. Can you draft the Answer for my file?
Yes. Firms and solo practitioners use our drafters to turn around a paragraph-by-paragraph Answer, affirmative defenses, and any counterclaim, then take it back to review, finalize, and file under their own name. You stay counsel of record; we stay behind the scenes.
What if I might have a claim against the plaintiff?
If the same facts give you a claim back, that can be pleaded as a counterclaim in your Answer, and in some situations it has to be raised now or it is lost. Tell us what happened and we will draft it so your claim is preserved.
