About Us

Real attorneys.
Named on every file.
Real documents.

Legal Tank is a national network of licensed U.S. attorneys who draft legal documents on a flat fee, with a fixed price quoted before work begins and a turnaround measured in days, not weeks. When the draft is ready, you can execute it on platform with our built-in e-signature.

Why Legal Tank Exists

Most people facing a legal task have historically had two choices, both bad. Hire a traditional law firm and pay $200 to $500 an hour, usually with a retainer up front, just to get a contract or letter drafted. Or download a fill-in-the-blank template from a generic forms site and hope it holds up when it matters.

Neither serves the person who simply wants a real attorney to write a real document at a known, fixed price. Legal Tank exists to close that gap. We match you with a U.S. licensed attorney who drafts the exact document you need, customized to your matter, compliant with the law of the state where the document will be used, at a flat fee quoted before any work begins. The drafting attorney is named on the file. You can verify their license. You receive a finished document drafted by a named attorney, ready for you and the other parties to sign, not a blank form.

Our legal document drafting services cover 150+ document types across estate planning, business formation, real estate, family law, employment, commercial contracts, and civil litigation, including the high-stakes work most form sites will not touch: operating agreements, prenuptial agreements, separation agreements, pre-suit demand letters, cease and desist letters, complaints, answers, discovery, and appellate briefs.

Meet the Attorneys Behind the Documents

Drafting is led by our Legal Review Director, monitored for current law by our Regulatory Compliance Manager, and held to a consistent editorial standard by our Editor-in-Chief. Every drafting attorney is named, credentialed, and verifiable in their state bar directory.

Our Editorial Process

Drafting standards are not negotiable. Every document delivered through Legal Tank passes through a four-step process that pairs drafting attorneys with editorial and compliance oversight:

  1. Drafting, A bar-admitted attorney with substantive experience in the relevant practice area drafts your document from a blank page, calibrated to the facts of your matter and the law of your jurisdiction.
  2. Editorial direction, Jessica Henwick, Editor-in-Chief, sets the voice, structure, and clarity standards every document follows, so legal precision is delivered in language a non-lawyer can actually read.
  3. State-specific review, David Chen, Esq., Legal Review Director (NY & NJ Bar), conducts a compliance review covering enforceability, statutory citations, and the procedural requirements of the state where the document will be signed, filed, or enforced.
  4. Regulatory monitoring, Rachel Torres, Regulatory Compliance Manager (J.D., Georgetown; CIPP/US), monitors statutory and regulatory changes across U.S. jurisdictions and flags drafting standards for revision when the law moves.

How It Works

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about how Legal Tank works, who drafts your document, and how flat-fee pricing compares to a traditional law firm.

What does Legal Tank do?
Legal Tank is a national legal document drafting service. We connect clients with licensed U.S. attorneys who draft legal documents on a flat-fee basis, ranging from contracts and demand letters to estate plans, operating agreements, and litigation pleadings. The attorney who drafts your document is named on the file.
Who actually drafts my document?
A licensed U.S. attorney with substantive experience in the relevant practice area drafts your document from a blank page, and that attorney’s name appears on the file, so you know who did the work on your matter.
How is this different from a traditional law firm?
Pricing and scope. Traditional firms bill hourly with no fixed cap, usually require a retainer, and rarely take on a single document for less than several hours of billable work. Legal Tank quotes a flat fee for a defined deliverable upfront. You know the total cost before any drafting begins.
How is this different from a DIY legal form site?
Real attorneys, not blank templates. Generic form sites give you a fill-in-the-blank document that you complete yourself, with no professional drafting and no sign-off. Every Legal Tank document is drafted from scratch by a licensed attorney, customized to your situation, and reviewed for state-specific compliance before delivery.
Are documents drafted by Legal Tank attorneys legally binding?
Yes, when executed according to the requirements of your state. Documents are drafted to comply with the substantive and procedural law of the relevant jurisdiction. Electronic signatures are legally binding under the federal ESIGN Act and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA).
Does Legal Tank sign my documents or represent me in court?
No. A licensed attorney researches and drafts your document and is named on the file, but Legal Tank does not sign documents as a party, provide court representation, or enter an appearance on your behalf. You and the other parties sign the finished document yourselves. You can do that electronically through our built-in e-signature, which is legally binding under the federal ESIGN Act and the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA), or print and sign by hand. For courtroom representation, engage litigation counsel separately.
Is Legal Tank a law firm?
Legal Tank is a legal document drafting service. The drafting attorneys in our network are independently licensed and responsible for the legal work they perform. Legal Tank does not provide general legal advice, court representation, or ongoing counsel beyond the scope of the document drafted. For litigation appearances or ongoing representation, we recommend engaging trial counsel separately.
